At Web Vitality, we’re not all about the grind – we know how to throw in some fun amidst the pixel-pushing and conversion rate optimising. Boy, did we throw down this time. We decided to flex our skills and indulge in a glorious, nostalgia-fueled project that screams retro cool.
It all started with Mark. Now, if you don’t know Mark, let me give you a hint: he loves old cartoons from when he was a kid. So, naturally, we thought, “Hey, why not give him a challenge that combines his love of cartoons and his eternal 6-year-old spirit?”
Thus, the “100 Kids TV Programs from the 70s and 80s” project was born! (We’ll let you guess Mark’s age from that, but spoiler alert: he’s definitely seen more than one Rubik’s cube revolution.)
The Mission?
Mark had to track down 100 classic TV shows from his childhood and we turned that nostalgia explosion into an amazing piece of interactive content. Each thumbnail leads to a blast from the past, complete with the show’s iconic theme tune. So, get ready for more synth music than your ears can handle.
And the design? We didn’t hold back. We channelled every bit of 80s energy into the layout. Think pixel fonts straight out of your first home computer (the one with the floppy disks the size of a small pizza), neon borders that look like they were ripped straight from a TRON poster, and of course, sound effects that could power a synthesiser museum.
To say Mark’s been obsessed with this project would be an understatement. We haven’t been able to pry him away from it since the site launched – he’s like a kid with an endless supply of Saturday morning cartoons… except now he doesn’t even have to fight for the remote!
So, what are you waiting for? Jump in your DeLorean, fire up those old memories, and click the link below to take a trip down memory lane. Warning: it’s highly addictive and may result in spontaneous humming of theme songs. Don’t forget to share the heck out of it – because, you know, retro cool should always be shared.
